described as son-in-law, but thought to have been his wife's son, born illegitimately. In 1881 shown as an Agricultural Labourer. By 1891 he

was described as a widower living in Paradise Street, Kings Sutton. In 1901 Census he appeared living in the home of Mary Ann Dennett

as a boarder employed as a Foreman Ironstone Miner. In 1911 Census he was back in Kings Sutton living with his daughter Ada Emily &

her family.

The oldest parts of the Church of England parish church of Saints Peter and Paul in Kings Sutton are the Norman font and largely Norman

chancel. The north aisle was added in the 13th century and the south aisle early in the 14th century. The bell tower and most of the windows

are Decorated Gothic. The spire was added to the tower probably late in the 14th century, raising the steeple to a height of 198 feet (60 m).

Sir Nikolaus Pevsner considered it "one of the finest, if not the finest, spire in this county of spires". The south porch, north aisle, west

window and very fine east window of the chancel are Perpendicular Gothic.

Ss. Peter & Paul parish is now part of a single Church of England benefice with the adjacent parish of Newbottle and Charlton

In his latter life he moved to Coventry and lived at 54 Sandy Lane, Radford with daughter Ada Emily, his grand-daughter Amy Emily & her

Described by family as a strict disciplinarian within the home. Probate 2 May 1944 left all funds to Reginald Dancer, George Hamilton and

Crendon and 7 miles (11 km) south-east of Bicester. Brill's name is tautological, being a combination of Brythonic and Anglo Saxon words

for 'hill' (Brythonic breg and Anglo Saxon hyll). The name attracted the attention of J. R. R. Tolkien, who based the Middle-earth village of
